Literally translated as "Ghost of Mountain", Doshor Shathus is the name given to the great Oasis on which new Dwarven capital in the desert is built. Artificially expanded through science and sorcery, Doshor Shathus is a massive inland sea, which includes a single, artificially built island. A small city, also called Doshor Shathus, sits on this island.
The city is designed not to withstand a siege, but to make any attack have a terrible cost in casualties. There are no vital buildings or regions to concentrate on, and every dwelling and farm is designed to operate on its own if necessary, making the only way to effectively capture the city being to go through every street, every house, every stable, and every farm, one by one.
The city of Doshor Shathus is moored to the main Dwarven capital by several anchor-lines, and in an emergency, these lines can be cut, leaving Shathus to float out toward the center of the inland sea that shares its name. It is entirely self-sustaining, thanks to a plethora of farms and fishing craft, and it also contains several small forges scattered about among the dwellings.
The oasis of Shathus is partially enchanted, allowing its waters to remain free of poisons and chemicals. This acts as a further anti-siege defense, as the populace on the island can sustain itself indefinitely, and starvation or poisoning the water cannot be used as weapons.
